Baie-Saint-Paul, a celebrated cultural hub in Québec’s gorgeous Charlevoix region, is well known as the birthplace of Cirque du Soleil, Canada’s famed artistic entertainment company. Daniel Gauthier, one of Cirque’s co-founders, is behind the new train of le Massif de Charlevoix that departs Québec City for La Malbaie. And this winter, the new train stops at the base of Le Massif for skiers to get off and visit the company’s new hotel complex in Baie-Saint-Paul. Explorelikealocal.com, recently launched by the Canadian Tourism Commission, taps into the knowledge on all things Canada from locals and visitors alike who have been there and done that. It provides lots of handy tips, and even some video clips on what to do, see and eat. And it slices Canada up into manageable bites of information divided among topics such as arts and culture, city breaks, culinary, luxury and outdoors. And all the content is generated by those who had first-hand experiences.
